VIA refurbishing LRC trains (con't)

The 25 Business and Combi (Economy and Premium Economy seating) cars will be next.

Some $120 million will be invested in the trains, which will give them a 20 year lease on life.

The cars were built by Bombardier in Canada.

They have a banking system compensating for centrifugal force when rounding corners, which also allows faster speeds.

VIA says all the cars will be gutted and renovated.

Business class cars will have new leather seats.

Economy class seats will be reupholstered in a new colour scheme.

Washrooms will also feature a more practical layout.

VIA says the new colours are “urban” and “contemporary”.
