Feds reject A'burg market request
The town has already been the recipient of much federal largess, including $11.3 million for heritage streetscaping and $16 million from senior governments for its sportsplex due to open late this year.
The town was applying for Community Adjustment Fund money.
“We reviewed the projects you submitted
in great detail. However, I regret to inform you that your projects were not selected for
funding,” David Elgie Director, Community Economic Development Directorate, said in a letter to town administrator Pam Malott.
No reason was given.

The market apparently is continuing without missing a step.
“14 vendors are reporting record
sales every weekend,” Anne Rota, the town’s manager of tourism and culture said.
“They completely sell out and are ecstatic about the
response. Average customer count is between 700 to 1000 people every
Saturday.”
Vendors currently operate in covered stalls and there is a gravel parking lot.
