Iodine is feature film directing debut (con't)
Iodine is his feature directorial debut.
The film had its world premier at the Montreal World Film Festival.
It’s now making the rounds in southern Ontario.
The first screening will be here, followed by screenings in Toronto, Barrie and Parry Sound, near where the film was made.
“He was looking for his father but what he found changed everything,” the film’s tag line says.
Stasko plays John Clem.
Clem’s father has disappeared at his remote cabin. Clem goes to find him.
Upon arriving on the island he runs into Avery, a neighbour and colleague of his father.
Avery is played by Ray Wise, who has starred in the cult classic Twin Peaks and in TV series like 24 (as VP Hal Gardner).
Clem gets no help from Avery who tends to ruminate on the universe but holds some startling insights.
For Clem, the experience of going north and meeting Avery – who gives him a “new set of eyes” - allows him to break through his “insecurities and paranoia.”
We won't divulge the rest.
Other locals in the cast are Theodore Bezaire (co-producer), Brian Parent (composer), Eric Schiller (cinematographer) and Stefanie Bezaire (costume designer).
